Meet Cheryl

With over 27 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in primary care and urgent care, I've seen firsthand how often people are told everything looks "normal," yet they still don't feel well. That's what led me to shift my focus toward a more personalized, root-cause approach to health.

My own experience with ongoing health challenges showed me that conventional approaches don't always provide answers. I found that a more individualized, whole-body approach was often more effective, and that's the approach I now bring to my clients.

I look at how your body's systems work together, because they don't function in isolation. When one area is out of balance, it can affect everything else. I also focus on addressing issues in the right order - starting with foundational areas like sleep and gut health - so that other symptoms can improve in a way that actually lasts.

I'm trained in natural health, nutrition, and functional medicine, and I combine that training with decades of clinical experience to help you understand what's really going on in your body. My goal is to identify what's driving your symptoms - not just managing them temporarily.

What to Expect

Your care is tailored specifically to you - not a one-size-fits-all approach.

We start with a detailed review of your health history, current symptoms, and lifestyle. This allows us to identify patterns and begin understanding what may be driving your concerns.

When appropriate, targeted lab testing is used to confirm findings and guide next steps - not ordered out of routine. Lab tests are selected based on your specific needs. From there you'll receive a clear, personalized plan so you know exactly what to do - along with support to help you move forward with confidence.

How does your approach work?

Your plan is built around you - not a template. We look at the bigger picture, including your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and when appropriate, targeted lab testing. From there, we create a personalized plan that may include nutrition, lifestyle changes and supplements that focus on what your body actually needs.

Rather than guessing or trying random solutions, each step is intentional and designed to move you forward along your healing juorney.

Will I need supplements?

Not always. Nutrition and lifestyle changes create the foundation for lasting health. When appropriate, supplements can be used to support those changes and help your body respond more efficiently, often speeding up progress without replacing the fundamentals.

Any supplements recommended are carefully selected for quality, safety, and effectiveness, and are sourced through a professional platform (Fullscript) that provides access to trusted, practitioner-grade brands. These supplements are offered at a savings to you with convenient home delivery.

What if I am already taking prescriptive medications?

Your current medications are always taken into consideration when building your plan.

I work alongside your existing care, and I encourage open communication with your primary provider and specialists. As your health improves, some medications may need to be adjusted; however, any changes should always be guided by your prescribing provider.

Do you accept insurance?

Functional Nutrition and Wellness operates on a cash-based model and does not bill insurance. HSA and FSA accounts are typically accepted. Some lab testing may be eligible for insurance reimbursement, and you are welcome to submit receipts to your insurance carrier.

Packages and flexible payment options are available to help make care more accessible.
